Diana Garza, EdD, MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), is Associate Research Professor and Project Director for Interdisciplinary Health Care Education at Texas Woman's University, Institute of Health Sciences, in Houston, Texas. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The contributors to this volume, representing a wide variety of disciplines (including medicine, social work, political science, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and biology), are in agreement that the health and human services offered in industrial nations are generally monocultural, and not well suited for migrants from other cultures.
